Day One: Travel Day

We flew into LaGuardia and checked into our hotel. We stayed in Times Square, but I'd like to try a different neighborhood next time—maybe Soho or East Village.

Because every day starts with a good cuppa, we wanted to make sure where to find it…

Day Two: Photo Shoot Day

We took the subway to Greenwich Village to meet my new friend, Sara Bouwman, for for fun NYC pics!

We had lunch with friend/technology reporter Kaya Yurieff. If you don’t follow The Information, you should. She is not only smart and friendly, but also always up for a coffee regardless of what city we find ourselves.

We ate dinner at Found on the 9th Floor; their lobby has some fantastic, old photos of NYC. Their outdoor patio is a great option for dining!

Day Three: Soho

We grabbed brunch at Balthazar.

We went shopping in Soho. We spent way too much time and money in ZARA! Met a girl with a fun jacket who told us about a sample sale off of Fifth Avenue. I really think I could be friends with her…she was so nice and chatty! If I knew who she was, I would tag her!

What I bought at Zara:

Printed Washed Sweatshirt I know you have seen me in this countless times!

Because we are suckers for a good bargain….

A quick train ride took us to @260samplesale. Well worth it….thank you, friendly NY girl! My sparkly blazer has found its happy place in my closet. I smile every time I look at it.

Found a few unique pieces that I love and didn’t spend over $40/item (My mom did, but not me.)

Caught Hamilton in the late afternoon. It’s worth the hype.

We at dinner at Estiatorio Milos. It's pricey, but SO SO Good. There are lots of options to eat in NYC. This just happened to be where a group dinner was!

And because Taylor Swift was announcing her Midnights tour, I actually caught her ad while in Times Square at MIDNIGHT!!!!! You can barely see the lyrics up, but I promise I WAS THERE!

Day Four: Wall Street

ree

Took a train to Chelsea Market/ Hi Line area and went on an 11:30 boat tour out of Chelsea Piers. This was a perfect activity if you want a great view of Lady Liberty.

^^ That's my mom. Isn't she cute? Next, we took a Subway to The Met.

Next up: a walk in Central Park and then off to a Broadway show to see Funny Girl. Of course, there are so, so many other options, as well. Lea Michelle was GREAT even with the awkward kissing scenes.

Day Five: Travel Day

Time to fly home and get back to real life (sigh).

My general impressions...

If you are willing to chance it, use TKTS in Times Square. You can get day-of Broadway tickets for a better price.

Here's my spreadsheet ↓↓↓ of recommendations that I have been collecting.

We took subway 90% of the time and felt safe. Advice I was given:just don’t ride after dark.

To and from the airport, we used Uber/taxi.

The next trip, I would love to stay in a different part of town, make seeing 911 museum a priority AND spend more time at museums. Ps—911 Museum is closed on Tuesdays.

Lastly, SOOOO many cute NYC dogs. I loved seeing the ones that had the little paw covers/shoes.
